Convert Depth Into Metres
When measuring the depth of a slab be sure to convert the height from millimeters to meters. A 100mm slab is 0.1m high and a 150mm slab is 0.15m high. Make sure to convert the height before doing any calculations as the numbers can increase drastically.
Apply the Core Formula
So for a 4m x 3m slab at 100mm depth you would require 1.2 cubic meters of concrete.
Add Five to Ten Per Cent for Wastage
Uneven ground, spillages and an overgenerous pour all add up to more concrete than you calculated. Handle Irregular Shapes in Sections
