For those who ever doubted the premise “less is more”, lovers of the Mediterranean climate and advocates constructions integrated into the landscape, we show you today this wonderful houses in Provence.
Created by the studio B-bis architecten, House B (that’s the name of this paradise) is located in the north of Provence and combines tradition and innovation in equal parts.
The first major challenge of the architects was to integrate harmoniously the building with its surroundings and as images of the Belgian photographer Ilse Liekens show, has been approved cum laude. Built with traditional materials of the area, half of the house is also half hidden within the hill on which it stands.
As a result, the building appears much smaller from the outside than it really is. The house has a floor L-shaped. A wing is under a gabled roof, where are the living room and dining room and open kitchen. The living room opens with large windows facing south to a spectacular porch and pool with panoramic views exception.

The other wing of the house is built halfway into the sloping terrain and is visible from the outside just as a stone wall next to the pool. With its green roof, which blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment. This section contains four rooms with windows directed down the slope.
In contrast to the living area fully exposed, the bedroom area offers a more intimate setting. And, as the rooms are semi-underground, also achieved that are cool in summer and warm and sheltered in winter, so fuel consumption is lower.
