There are, of course, plenty of places online and offline, where you can go to buy your fridges, but there are a few things you need to think about before you start looking.

Which brand?

Your fridge needs to be durable, hardworking and fit for purpose. The very last thing you want to do is buy cheaply and then regret it at a later date.

Aim to buy a brand that you can rely on. Whether this is one you have experience of using before, or one which comes personally recommended by someone you can trust, remember to check out all the options before going ahead.

Size matters

Commercial refrigeration, such as that available at https://www.fridgefreezerdirect.co.uk/commercial-refrigeration, comes in all shapes and sizes. Naturally, you need to buy the correct size of refrigeration units for your needs.

It’s no good going for one which is too big, as you will just find yourself wasting energy cooling empty space. Alternatively, don’t be tempted to go for a smaller unit, as this will soon outlive its uses.

If starting from scratch, measure the amount of floor space you can give up to your fridges. Next, decide on what type you want, and how many doors you need. You should be able to decide on the correct size depending on how much stock you have to chill, as well as how many customers you serve each day.

Warranties

Even the best fridges will break down occasionally, especially if they are being used daily. The last thing you need when in business is a broken fridge with no-one available to fix it. So buying a fridge which comes with a warranty is usually a good idea.

Do make sure that it’s a proper commercial warranty. According to UK Whitegoods, some warranties will not be valid if the appliance is deemed domestic rather than commercial, so be sure to check all the paperwork.

Location, location

One other thing you need to decide on is the location of your fridge condenser units. These are either on the bottom or on the top – each has advantages and disadvantages, so it pays to research before you choose.
